Jim Nuzzi and a couple of buddies started leasing a few hundred acres back in 1988 for their personal hunting use and to produce several videos that would later become the popular “ Jim Nuzzi Presents” series. Two years later, after having the opportunity to lease additional land, Jim started running fully guided hunts on about 800 acres of prime farmland. The response to these guided hunts in Southern New Jersey, a big buck haven and well kept secret, was tremendous. Jim received many requests for seasonal access to these lands and in 1995 started providing seasonal memberships to about 40 members. As Jim’s reputation grew as an ethical manager of the properties he leased, other property owners sought him out to possibly lease their land as well. Through careful evaluation, Jim was able to add several hundred acres per year thus enabling him to take on additional seasonal members and guided hunts.
In 1997 Mike Fiscus, a recent West Coast transplant, had grown weary of the public land hunting opportunities in the Southern New Jersey region and happened upon a flyer detailing American Whitetail LTD as a provider of private hunting. He became a seasonal member and enjoyed many days as a member. During this time, Mike’s professional life enabled him to semi-retire in 1999 and in 2003 Mike and Jim formed their partnership to form American Whitetail LTD, LLC along with several subsidiaries as well.
Today, American Whitetail LTD LLC manages over 2300 acres of leased and owned properties. We provide seasonal deer hunting memberships to about 100 individuals and offer fully guided hunts through our subsidiary Falling Leaf Outfitters throughout all of the deer hunting seasons. Additionally we offer guided Canada and Snow Goose hunts as well as guided turkey hunts in their respective seasons. We have expanded our video production unit, now a subsidiary called Falling Leaf Productions, to include video/DVD production and for broadcast TV production. We hope to have a regular television show in the very near future. Also we offer various hunting products through our web store and discounted worldwide big game hunts through our booking division.
All in all we have come a long way in the last 15 years, so that now we are able to provide one of the highest quality experiences on the East Coast. Being centrally located to the Pennsylvania, New York and Delaware markets and having global associations, allows us to provide a wealth of services to just about any sportsman.
